That turbolift scene when Kira says goodbye to him and lets him go ... I think that really broke the spell for Odo regarding Laas, and Laas's influence on him. He really seemed to wake up in that scene, where moments before (in Sisko's office) he was pretty cocky about Laas's escape. When Kira reveals that she was the one who did it, he's floored ... because he never considered it. After all, he was starting to side with Laas with regard to Laas's view on humanoids, and Kira is a humanoid. After Kira walks away from him, he realizes that there was one specific humanoid he didn't give enough credit to ... and that was the one he was closest to.

What's even more poignant is that in the scene where they make love, he doesn't try to offer an apology ... his very entrance says that he doesn't know what to say - he doesn't look at her right away when he steps in, but turns to face her, as if prepared to be thrown out. A year before he tried to apologize and was told that his actions (the betrayal) put them in the "way, way past sorry" category. IMO, he would've had tears in his eyes when he walked in the door (had he been humanoid). He sure didn't expect Kira to apologize to him to ask him to make love to her in his natural form.

That look they share is just hotness, passion, and carnal eye sex .... After "Chimera" their sexual intimacy must've gone through the roof .

I would imgine it did! hahaha! Tender and sweet mixed with passion and hunger. There was no middle ground with these two. It was all or nothing for them!

Oh yeah ... I loved how they did a shout out to it in S7 ... when Odo says that it was the moment he became an optimist. Kira says, "That was some kiss, wasn't it?" The way Odo agrees and says, "Changed my life...." means that it rocked his world and hers too .

I was a squealing fangirl after that scene - I watched it live.
